Structure of organization
Kenya aid appeals is structured in working cells for each project or district.
Currently we have representative volunteers from each local area, who through our direct intervention and control, do the basic groundwork leading to each project conclusion.
As an example we cite the latest Mwakiruge "Cup of Life"appeal.
On February 21st it was brought to our attention that this village was in a crisis state. They had little food due to inept government and failed crops.
Within days our Director and our Liason officer teamed up with a local representative. A visit was then made to the village to get first hand information.
Following the visit immediate plans were made for the appeal.
Working through the networks coordinator a publicity/awareness poster was distributed.
The village chief, deputy chief and local volunteers in Mombasa were all briefed on a feed day planned for Sunday 8th March 09.
Donations and funding were stopped at noon Saturday the 7th March
The director of Kenya aid appeals Mombasa, Director of Box a Box appeals Nairobi and local liason officers then made bulk purchases
of rice, beans and maize flour.
Volunteers meet at 11 am Sundy morning on the 8th March and all was ready in the village by 13.00 hrs.
By 1600 hrs the donated food had been distributed to 320 villagers and an additional 50 orphans.
That same evening all members were fully briefed on all totals and figures and photographs were published showing the event in action.
